Taigh na Fraoch, gaelic for House of Heather, is a newly
built cottage, designed in traditional highland style.
It is situated in the beautiful, remote area of Assynt,
on the west coast of Sutherland, just a few minutes walk
from the sweeping sandy beach of Clashnessie Bay. The
house has lovely open outlooks across the heather moorlands
towards the mountain of Quinag and the sea. Around two
hours' drive from Inverness, it is only around 7 miles
from the popular fishing village of Lochinver,
with its shops and restaurants.
Truly this is an ideal location for those interested in hill and coastal walking,
climbing, loch and sea fishing, wildlife, birdwatching,
geology, sailing, canoeing and cycling. (The coast road
is one of the most challenging tarmac roads in the UK!)
